The mounting of this white lava cameo is done in the Etruscan style. It is 18kt yellow gold and is a series of braids and plaites to create a wonderful illusion of movement. Lava cameos were very popular souvenirs of trips to Greece and Italy. This one would make a great memento of one of those trips. This one measures 2” x 1 ¾". Circa 1900.
