most of the time they do not realize what a true black opal is. A natural black opal has a black

body color throughout the stone. This opal has an excellent play of color in the blues, greens and

oranges, it has no voids, extinctions, or crazing. In the center of this particular opal, is an opalized

Victorian Snake Ring During the Victorian period the snake ring was very popular. Edward gave one

as an engagement to queen Victoria. It was thought to be a protector and bring luck to the

owner. The entwined serpents are rose and yellow gold. Garnet and seed pearls create the

illusion of the serpents head. Circa 1890.
