During the Victorian period serpents were a sign of good luck. Queen Victoria actually wore a serpent ring as her engagement ring. The broach measured 2” in diameter. Circa 1890

Mosaic PinThis micro mosaic is quite special. In addition to the excellent glass work a conch shell cameo is set in the center. The oval shaped pin measures 1 7/8” x 1 3/8” and is set brass. During the Victorian period many archeological excavations were taking place in Italy and these Roman influenced souvenirs were very popular with Victorian tourists.
